I have both the LUDT and the Pro-Tech PDW Invictus (all black in magnacut). They are both great knives. Razor sharp out of the box and very slicey. Both fire hard and kick like mules. In my opinion the lanyard helps to hold onto the knife when it fires out and I even added one to the Invictus. I also prefer the deep carry pocket clip on the Invictus and it is still very easy to withdraw from your pocket. Both handles have the texturing for a good grip and are sleek looking and comfortable in various hand positions. I realize that many do not like the locking feature on their knives but I like the added security it provides. I also like that the Pro-Tech comes in a nice little drawstring pouch that can also be used for wiping off the blade. I do not like all the billboarding that Microtech puts on all their blades and the Pro-Tech is much cleaner looking without it imho. At the present time the PDW Invictus is in my pocket All in all both are great edc autos that are easy to carry and use and are good additions to any collection.

Oh man, it's up to $185 now, what a difference 6 years can make. I still bought one, absolutely love it.

I took a detour to becoming a Spyderco fanboy, since I really tried not to become a Spyderco fanboy, but it was inevitable. So to everyone watching this, if you want to save some money, just start with a PM2, you might not get a second knife.

I was on the fence on which one to get and ended up with the PM2. I was actually quite surprised when it arrived that it was not as big as it looks in photos and videos. So glad I did not go with the Para 3. Love my Fradon Lock PM2. Perfectly sized knife in my opinion.

spydeco knives will allways be better than any benchmade especially the steels that spydeco uses far superrior bro my opinion

I love them, especially the tantos with a belly. It feels like the best of both worlds, the utilitarianism of pinch grip and the practicalness of the slim belly. I also enjoy the edge’s elbow being longer down the blade, basically a western and eastern amalgamation of a tanto. Either style works for me. And yes you can do a chef’s hold in the front to use the forward edge.

I have carried a 940 for three years love it. Yes it is overpriced but like you said about the warranty. I cheated on that though I have bought a mini crooked River. It’s a little thicker and fills out the hand a little better

carried mine for almost 2 years, broke the pocket clip, they wont warranty it and don't sell a replacement clip, shit service from Cold Steel....

I got the spy27 lightweight para3 after I purchased the g10 s30v, and I agree the para3 lightweight is almost the perfect edc and way better than the full size. Then, the salt version was released, and it was perfected. I had to grab a second para3 lightweight and have zero regrets. (I will be getting a sage 5 salt when it drops though. )

Five years later and prices shot up to 220. Just got a Bradley 2. But I have a bunch of pm2 in many different steels

Ive just received my first compression lock, a para 3 and im now a big fan. Its my favourite lock id say. Looking for a small edc to complete my small medium large set . Its down to this or a mini bugout. The use will be light. The larger knives do the heavier stuff. Probably need to be an xmas gift , to myself lol. Anyone got both?

I have Kershaw Launch 1 and Protech TR-3 X1 Operator. After conducting comparative tests, I found the following: 1) the mechanical processing of the blade is better at Kershaw; 2) both knives open equally well, but Kershaw gives me a better feel of the blow (and his sound is better too, lol); 3) when opening, the buttons stick equally on both knives, but this is characteristic of automatic knives with side ejection of the blade (since there is constant friction between the blade and the button due to spring tension); 4) the reliability of the lock turned out to be higher in Kershaw (the Protech folded when hitting the stump and would have cut my fingers if not for the protective gloves). So I chose Launch. It is stronger, more versatile and simply more beautiful.
